Heat's Gone, But Nude Recreation Continues!

We knew it couldn't last. But it did set records. Over 80 degrees for 9 days in a row in January. It was great.

But the cooler weather returned this week, even some rain and drizzle. So that means only one thing. Time for theThings To Do Nude Team
to head for Palm Springs!

We left the surfboards and wetsuits in the garage and headed out to the desert. The windshield wipers were going most of the way there, but just as you pass Cabazon the skies cleared and the sun was shining.

We checked in with Tom Mulhall at the Terra Cotta Inn. It's a clothing optional resort with a great vibe. Big pool, dozens of lounge chairs, bubbling hot jacuzzi. It was in the mid 70's with plenty of sunshine by the pool and there was a fun crowd. A young couple in their 20's, a few more mature guests and everything in bet
ween. It was mellow and relaxed and the perfect way to get some sun and relaxation.

Tom mentioned that sometimes when it gets cloudy and cool in LA, local people don't head to Palm Springs. Big mistake! If you're wondering about the weather, just call Tom, his wife Mary or any of their team at (760)322-6059 and get the true story.

Another Great Nude Day

Great day at the nude beach with the Things To Do Nude Team Got an early start to catch the great waves. Stopped for coffee and breakfast burritos on the way and we were on the sand before 8AM. Weather was already sunny and warm. Waves weren't as big as forecast, but they were better than they have been for a month so we were happy. Surfed a couple hours.

The wind occasionally came up, but overall it felt like a summer day on the beach. Sunshine all day long and warm temperatures. Perfect for kicking back naked and relaxing, and reminding us that naked surfing season isn't too far away.

The crowd wasn't as big as Saturday but most of the regulars were there and the volleyball crew drew a big crowd so there was naked volleyball all afternoon. Left about 2:30 and it was still warm, sunny and beautiful.

Be Nude All Winter

Another great Southern California day. Temperatures in the mid 70's on the beach. I've forgotten it's only January when there are several hundred naked people on the beach, relaxing and enjoying the sun.

Yeah, the water is still really, really, cold. Wore the 4/3 wetsuit and booties for the surf session. But later was able to do a 2 mile walk in the nude, and enjoy the 9th consecutive day of hot weather.

Surf is improving. Waves weren't big, but they were bigger than yesterday and show some promise. Got a few really fun rides, and anticipating great things for tomorrow so the swell should be building all night. If you've never surfed, you need to try it. And if you've never surfed naked, it's one of the things you need to put on the list of things to do before you die.

Thats the goal of Things To Do Nude , to give you ideas and information on how to fully enjoy life by getting into some nude recreation. Let us know how we're doing.

Heat Wave Continues at Nude Beach

The Things To Do Nude Team took advantage of the continued summer-like weather in Southern California today with temperatures still in the 80's and perfect conditions at our favorite nude beach. Total sunshine, no wind, warm weather. Just one problem. There are NO waves.

I guess I should also mention the water is cold. The air temperature may be in the high 70's and low 80's but the water is still in the high 50's, so full wetsuits are a requirement.

We surfed for a while and caught a few little waves. When that got dull (pretty fast) we did some naked frisbee golf which is a great sport. As normal I took an early lead, then choked about midway through the course, lost some confidence, and the game.

Weather forecast is great for the whole weekend and they're saying we'll have some surf on Saturday and Sunday.
Let's hope so!

Just Like Summer - January 13

The heat wave continues in California with temperatures around 90 again today. Forecast is for warm weather all week long, and some LONG overdue surf for the weekend.

Some friends are headed to Washington DC for the inaguration later in the week. Forecast there is for temperatures in the 20's. I'm sure it will be amazing to be in DC for the Obama festivities, but I'm quite happy here in the sun and heat.

Watch for reports from happy nude bloggers and surfers by the end of the weekend, and new video reports at Things To Do Nude

Still Warm - January 11

Another warm day so headed to the nude beach again. Morning was sunny and in the low 70's by 9AM. No wind and the sky was so clear you could see at least 60 - 70 miles along the coast. A bigger crowd today, even a few couples coming to enjoy the January sunshine. A cool wind came up around 1, but it was still an amazing day for January.

Waves were still weak so surfing was dull. A few surfers did a quick nude dive in the water, but with water temps in the high 50's it's not something you do for long. I guess you could say that when you get in water that cold, it ends up being a very "short" story.

Had planned to go to Palm Springs for the day on Sunday to check out what the new owners at Desert Sun (formerly Desert Shadows) have done, but with 80 degree temperatures at the beach, didn't seem worth the drive.
Weather is forecast to be good for the next week and they're saying we may even get some waves by next weekend. Let's hope so.

Amazing Weather - January 10

You've got to love 80 degree weather in January, which is why the Things To Do Nude Team headed to the nude beach both days this weekend. Saturday was hot and breezy with off shore winds.
Waves were weak so surfing wasn't much fun, but the weather helped compensate. Not a big crowd - maybe 40 - 50 people. As always, mostly guys this time of year.
